Beatriz E. Garcia-Cardona, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon providing comprehensive surgical care at SportsMED Orthopedic Surgery & Spine Center’s Huntsville, Madison, and Athens, Alabama, locations. Dr. Garcia-Cardona specializes in several types of complex orthopedic surgeries using the latest techniques and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
After completing her undergraduate degree in science at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Dr. Garcia-Cardona went on to earn her medical degree, graduating with honors from Universidad Central Del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She went back to the University of Puerto Rico for her orthopedic residency, where she served as chief resident and held other positions of leadership.
Dr. Garcia-Cardona has extensive training and experience in flat foot reconstruction surgery, foot and ankle repair, and bunion correction. She also specializes in the minimally invasive surgical treatment of all sports-related foot and ankle injuries using the latest arthroscopic technologies.
Dr. Garcia-Cardona is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
When she’s not serving her patients, she enjoys volunteering her time with the Special Olympics and going on mission trips.
