About Dr. Aaron

Ryan Aaron, MD, is a board-certified physiatrist providing customized care at the Huntsville, Alabama, office of SportsMED Orthopedic Surgery & Spine Center. Dr. Aaron specializes in the diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. He also has extensive training in diagnosing neuromuscular disorders.

Dr. Aaron earned his undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham before completing his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Aaron went on to finish his fellowship in interventional spine medicine at The Orthopedic Clinic Association in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Aaron uses the latest techniques in epidural steroid injections and facet joint injections for chronic pain in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He also performs medial branch blocks, sacroiliac joint injections, and radiofrequency ablations in the spine to treat pain from traumatic injury or degenerative disease. Dr. Aaron uses advanced diagnostic technologies in-office, including nerve conduction studies to confirm nerve damage and electromyography (EMG) to pinpoint the cause of muscle and nerve dysfunction.

Dr. Aaron is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Lauren is an AACN board-certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Lauren graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in December 2016 from Auburn University in Montgomery. She went to work in the Progressive Cardiovascular Unit at Huntsville Hospital where she specialized in cardiothoracic surgery and became a charge nurse. While she attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing, she also worked as a sedation nurse at the Surgery Center of Huntsville. She has been a team member of SportsMED and has worked alongside Dr. Aaron for 1 year and counting. She has been married to her husband Chuck for 5 years and have three dogs. They enjoy attending college sporting events in their free time.
